The loss of even just one tooth can have disastrous effects on the smile and greatly affect our quality of life. As soon as you lose a tooth, your mouth begins to undergo changes, such as bone loss. Without the natural stimulation of the tooth, your jaw bone begins to recede, leading to shifting teeth and possibly more tooth loss over time. Replacing missing teeth with permanent dental implants prevents this from happening. Contact Connections Dental for a consultation, and learn how a dental implant can help you regain your confident smile!

What it’s Like Getting a Dental Implant

The process begins with a consultation and examination. Oakmont dentist, Dr. Jason will order 3D images to determine whether the jaw is viable to support the implant. With our state of the art CBCT machine, all necessary images are taken in our office in just a few minutes.

On the day of surgery, the patient receives a local anesthetic to numb the area. The dentist will drill a small hole into the jaw. A titanium post is then fitted into the hole. This titanium post works in much the same way as the root of a natural tooth. Over time the post bonds with the jawbone in a process known as osseointegration. After this healing process is complete in 4-6 months, we will design a custom crown to blend in with your natural teeth.

What is the Cost of a Tooth Implant?

Before you invest in a dental implant, it is important to know everything that will be involved in your treatment plan. The cost of an implant varies by patient depending on their specific needs. Some factors that affect the cost include bone grafting and extractions. For most patients, the final cost of their implants will be less than the cost of other treatment solutions over their lifetime. While dental implants do cost more upfront, they are designed to last a lifetime as long as you take proper care of them. At Connections Dental, we partner with CareCredit to find an affordable way for you to pay for your implant.
